Ok, I'm getting a new computer.
It's a Fujistu Siemens Scaleo P with:
Windows XP Home SP2
Pentium Dual Core 820 (2.8 Ghz.) processor, 800 x 2 1 M776
VGA NV 7300SE graphics card, 64M/512M PCIe and TV out. (gonna replace it probely by a 512MB graphics card)
1024 Mb (2x 512 M , DDR533) DDR RAM and I'm gonna upgrade that later to 2GB
(It's called DDR RAM right? Or RIMM or RAMM?)
500 Gb (2x 250 Gb) harddisk
DVD dual layer SM optical drive
11-in-1 cardreader
And a 19" TFT screen.
Only three questions. What graphics card is the 'VGA NV 7300SE graphics card' I couldn't find it on the internet.
How much MB is it?
And it's a dual core, does that mean I have two times 2.8 Ghz? Or is it just one time 2.8 Ghz?
What do you think? Is this a good PC?
That will be a nice system.
processor: good choice a dual core 2.8 will serve you for many years to come. And at 800mhz fsb dual core your effective fsb for that chip is 1600mhz.
graphics card: that is an nvidia a 7300se is a special edition, and means it uses hyper cache the card has 64mb of onboard memory and will use up to 512mb - over 64mb will be system memory.
memory: if you can afford it get 667mhz memory it will better serve the cpu on cache transfers. also 2gb is getting to be the norm.
memory name: boemann is correct its ddr2
monitor: be sure and get one that has less than 8ms response times on, on-off. if not the ghosting will drive you crazy.
