I use a program called Your UnInstaller 2008.  It gets rid of programs completely and removes registry keys left behind. See if you can download a free trial or something. I use that all the time to safely get rid of programs i dont want anymore. Registry mechanic can also help to remove keys left behind. A combo of these two and I think you'll be good once again.

Actually, it didn't work.  It went out on me last night and I have no viruses now.  So it has to be the fucking power supply.  How can I test it to see?

Checked the system with KAV? Maybe it's not a adware, but a virus...

And one more thing: check inside your computer tower, if hard discs aren't connected to the same data-cable as cd-roms or some cables aren't connected properly to the motherboard. My friend had similar problem caused by this...

In the end: how to test your power supply? Google. I have no idea how to do that.

Edit2: Some ppl had simmilar problem, but their computers were heating because not enough fresh air was coming into the comp... But if you say you are cleaing it all the time I suppose it's not the problem.
However, some ppl also noticed problem with immediate computer switch off after overclocking some hardware like cpu or gpu.
