Do you have all of them installed (RtR and reg.BF) If you do then any cd should work from your set... That is if you have used patch 1.6 / 1.61. If you are on patch 1.5 (i think it is) you have to have the CD in for the the Xpack you are playing.

Or the cd you broke is the cd you need (play cd) or as loaded said your xpack cd so if you broke the one that is for the 1942 xpack forget it or you just dont have the cd drive set right or using the wrong one. If I was you forget the cds and get the no cd patch...

I ve the patches 1.6 and 1.61 (and a switcher).

I think ur right about that play disk (my third cd is broken) but i could play it (about a week ago) with disk 1 ore 2.

I ve tryed to play 1942 (without road 2 rome) with disk 1 and 2, it doesn't work.

I am not sure what the "Play disk" is. I have used any of my 4 disk to play BF, you just have to make sure what ever disk you use that game is installled... Like right now I have my Secret Weapons disk in because that is a disk I don’t care about, so if anything happens to it in my drive oh well no more SW.

Have you tried removing the game and installing it again? Like bone said it is possible your Cd drive is not being found by the game. (there is a way to go into RegEdit to see, but I don't know if you can handle that)

I am sure if you think back real hard just before then problem started, you will remember what happen and be able to fix it.

Right... I am old, I forgot you said you had a "BROKEN" CD.

About the cd drive being broken and what your Bro said... Maybe I guess, BUT makes me think, maybe you have a CD driver problem. Have you tried to put any other type of CD in the drive? If you have did it play or even did the CD drive know there was CD in the drive? Have you checked to make sure everything is ok in "Device Manager"? Go into "Device Manager" and make sure you do not see a next to your CD drive, if you do you have a problem.

what cd is broken, which number, disc 1? disc 2? disc 3? or disc 4?

the disc number is at the bottom of the disc.
