I think it is difficult to classify what is going on there as one aspect that lures the patrons and the victims to the human trafficking world. Naturally everybody is different in some regards but I think the primary elements can't be understood by the western world because to trully understand their mindset you have to live in that 'third-world'.
I suppose if you wanted to nail it down to one thing it would be that they trully don't know any different and that it is tolerated.
I'm going off of an example i've experienced in the area where I grew up. It is not unusual in Eastern Kentucky to see 80% or more who draw on government assistance, cook, take, and sell meth, and a myriad of other undesirable aspects of life. Those who partake in such activities in this area from what I have found don't know any different from just that and it is tolerated by the masses. So, in a sense it is like a 'third-world'.
If they don't know any better how can they understand that what they are doing is 'wrong'?
