modem or router possibly disconnecting

All right I haven't played BF1942 in a few weeks, and it was fine then and I haven't changed anything (was out of town).  Anyway, now when I join any server, it'll last for about 20 seconds but then disconnect me.  Ventrilo stays logged on and all webpages are fine...so I'm wondering if it's a video game thing or what?

Check in the internet game menu to see if your connection type has changed (someone maybe changed it), no matter what type of connection you have at home, keep it at 256 no higher or even 112.

I went to their website and updated some stuff on the router, it seems to be working now...
