« on: January 03, 2012, 03:35:56 PM »

Just to let you guys know I've ordered a new laptop that might not run bf3 since the one I bought in the summer is broken. Won't get it till 23rd so I'm stuck on my old old Laptop that runs like a turtle.

Don't you know the specs on the new laptop?  Is it not the same as your old...

Wait... Weren't you the one that posted this in the shout box...

If you ever buy a laptop, buy accidental damage support for 3 years with it. Then you can break it every year and get the new model and also not have to worry about repairs.

Didn't that work out like you thought or are you thinking about later screwing the system? ;)

Bought the accidental for my new one, so later yeah. That shout was a regretful shout saying I should have got the accidental.

Gotta... I would think long and hard over any "drops". I'm sure there is a few million that have the same thought, the insurance company can't be that dumb, after all that is why they have the billions and we have nothing.

I just got my broken one back from them and it is even more broken now. Before I could operate it with an external monitor now it doesn't turn on, and it doesn't even charge! The story is I spilled soda on it in September. All I had was sticky keys. Then the last day of the semester in December my screen gets all blue lines and can't see it. Spend hours on the phone with support and find out works with an external monitor. I send it in thinking it will be covered and it's not from the spill in September. Few days later they charge me 450 to fix it. few days later claim its not repairable. Get it back today it dont work at all. Ridiculous.

Well I opened it cleaned it out with some water and paper towel. Now it charges but now I get the CapsLoc flash. I proly could ovenheat my motherboard to fix it right?

I think they screwed around with things when they got in there. I opened it up and the keyboard wasnt even attached inside.

Do you think if I have BestBuy transfer my old graphics card into my new laptop with the warranty that would destroy my warranty?

Malbert,  just call them about it.. chances are it will though and they wont let you. best buy/geeksquad suck man.. they have a horrible requirements quota for being employed. so whats the story on it now? turning on? external mon still required?  let me know if u want it, but i have geeksquads lil pride and joy toy the use on everything.. called an MRI.. anyway  this thing is fucking retarded its so automated... works wonders though.  let me know.

Story right now is I got screwed. I bought a new laptop that was cheaper than my old one. My broken laptop (doesn't turn on at all) with my hard drive and graphics card is still at the support center. Once I get it back I will take it over to Best Buy have them transfer my graphics card for $50 and then I'll transfer my soundboards from my hard drive. Probably won't get my laptop back till end of next week.
