maybe lightning can help but here it goes, is it illegal to have an intake in your car, like one that gives u more hp, also racing headers, are those illegal 2?

As long as you don't violate local noise pollution, and break the speed limit. Some states may have restrictions on car mods, but mainly on vehicle stability and noise.

An aftermarket is indeed illegal in California if it is not D.O.T. approved.  The header is most likely illegal especially if the O2 sensor has been removed.  There are some that are legal but like I said they will have an emission referee tag on them.

almost all aftermarket parts for cars are illegal in california chris, but if you're ever pulled over just say it's to get better gas mileage, that's what my sister said and they didn't mind.
