changing font in photoshop
« on: April 19, 2008, 07:17:51 AM »

I have some files with text I'd like to edit, but don't know how.  Can someone either explain it, or let me email you the pics and you can do it for me?  Thanks.

Unless it's an unmerged psd file in which you can see a layer that has a font on it, you can't simply edit the text.  If there is only one layer and no individual text layer, you're probably going to have to clonestamp over the previous text and then put the new text over it.

Yeah its more than one layer so its not a simple edit then.  Dang.  How do I clonestamp and put new text over it?  And yes, I've read the adobe files for a few days now and all that and can't figure it out, so that's why I'm posting here.  Much appreciated.

Host it and put it on here so others/myself can look.  Keep it as a .psd file.

Here they are.  Basically, I just want the second "e" to be chaned to an "a" on the first three, and on the last one, to change "Jesusjuice" to "Beatlejuice"

It seems simple enough...

Well, its going to be extremely badly to clonestamp out the original text and to put in the new text.  You're best bet is to:

1) Get a new sig made by someone.  (ie. Ricardo)

2) Email Phantom and ask him for the original .psd's not in merged form.

If you try to clonestamp it, you're going to notice an abrupt change to the look of the sig and it's just going to look bad.

I would try option #2 first.... Sorry I can't help much beyond that.

EDIT: Let me see what I can do.

I'm actually going to go with option #1.  Ricardo, get to work my friend.

Here are the first two without the name.  I don't have the other two, but I have the original picture that phantom used.  He found the flags on his own.  You can just use them and add a little different background.

Here's what I got.  Didn't have the original text for the last one.

Attached is last sig if you want to change the text.  You'll see what I mean about the text layer.  They look..... kinda close.

What happened to the animated bullet on the first sig?
How can I or will you put *MAFIA* on the second sig and make the text smaller?

What do I owe you...

1) The animation is gone because you put it on here as a .psd at first.  Needs to be an optimized .gif file in order to have animation.

2) *MAFIA* is on the second signature.  (Parachute)  However, you can edit the text in Photoshop if you wish, I attached the .psd file in my last post.  If you do it yourself all you have to do is:
     1) Open up the file
     2) Click on the Text layer in the layer pallet
     3) Click on the Text on the screen
     4) Highlight the text
     5) Change the text/resize
     6) Reupload

3) Nothing.
