Is there any way to remove everything from my HDD(Programs, apps, or whatever) or practicly just make it like it was new? i hate having all these shit programs on here that i never use, and theres hundreds, so i don't feel like uninstalling them all.

So if you get what im saying, Please help

Also, a good free Virus scanner would be nice

You could format the C drive to make it just like it was new.  Make sure you backup all the stuff you don't want to lose on an external drive, CD, or email to yourself before you do though, because it'll wipe out everything.

Personally, if I were formatting my hard drive, I would keep all of my pictures, videos, mp3s, and text documents that I've typed or whatever.  I'd also save the .rar files of any programs i've downloaded that are either large or I'd have a tough time finding again.  I think that's about it for me.  If you don't have much stuff or don't care about losing those type of things, then just reformat.  Let us know if you decide to and we can help you out, its kinda easy.

1) Open up your computer
2) Take out your hard-drive
3) Put a magnet on your hard-drive

Don't do that.  I'll let you know some time tomorrow when I have the time to type it out so you don't mess up or whatever, or someone else can.

Not if it's a secondary drive, but I assume it's his primary.  I still say go with the magnet.

to re format.

1. Put Windows CD into CD rom.
2. Go into the BIOS and set the bios to start the computer from the CD-ROM not the HDD.
3. Re-start computer
4. Follow prompts from windows CD to format HDD.
5. wait 20 min follow prompts.
6. install appropriate drivers.
7. go play bf1942.

Maybe I don't understand, but isn't it hard to load an operating system on a computer if you don't have one?

Its not about the operating system, he just wants to delete everything from his hard drive other than the original stuff.  The easiest or most common way to do it is to reformat, which he can't do if he doesn't have a CD.
