I tried to get onto the Mafia BF42 server a few months ago, and it kept crashing on me.  What's going on?

Why a few months ago, try now, it works as long as it is up. Unless if you have the wrong version, you need 1.6; origin doesn't work from what i tried maybe you can patch it to 1.61 then back to 1.6 idk haven't tried.

I did have 1.6 and it just crashed.  Game crashed.  It kept bringing me to the home screen.

Try loading  up game without any hacks running then alt tab out to start them.

You might have a mod on, uninstall any patches in your levels folder, you should only have levels with _000 or _003, also do what manowar said.
