Anyone who has given it any sort of rational thought would come to the conclusion that God, Religion, etc are completely human. There is nothing divine about anything in this world except for the fairy-tales told in the Bible. Believing said tales is just wishful thinking.
No one who truly understands what God is supposed to be could say, "Umm.. Yeah, I believe in God," because God is such an AWESOME concept that understanding it would probably make you either die or go crazy. Think about it - some dude up in Heaven is promising you an eternity of Bliss? Do you have a clue what that means? It's horse shit created by those who wanted a form of social control.
That being said, religion is a great tool to keep people somewhat civil and placated. However, it is founded on fiction. Any old sap can see that. Christianity will soon go the way of the Greek and Roman Mythology ---> to the History books and into the circular file of irrelevance.
